Felt on steps
« on: March 12, 2010, 19:57 »
Hi there, just bought coop and run and put it together tonight, the ladder up into the coop has felt on it. I am sure i read somewhere that it shouldn't. Can anyone advise please.

Thanks
Debbie

the manufacturers sometimes put it on to help the chicken grip when going in and out of the house but it really isn't necessary if the ladder has evenly spaced raised ridges. Red mite can hide under roof felt during the day and then come out and feed off your hens in the night which is why it isn't recommended.
Staffies are softer than you think.
