I'm trying to train a couple of Jasmine stephanense up a fan trellis but they really don't seem to like it.  They refuse to twine, preferring to splay themselves over the floor. 

Would the diamond style expanding stuff suit the plant better ? Im not very good with flowery things.

As far as I'm aware, they are not really true climbers (ie distinct lack of tendrils), they tend to be scrambly type plants, so whatever trellis you use youre gonna have to tie 'em in unless they have something twiggy they can kind of tangle up in. I've got them planted through a rose (Mermaid) and they still need tying in - I've got the scars to prove it!

Jasmine aren`t climbers, they are what`s called wall shrubs. That is, they are shrubs of lax growth which need to grow against a wall or fence for support.
