Hi craig its tony met you at market wednesday they looked about 20 weeks old its a bit harder to tell with silkies, it will take them a while to settle in, you should see eggs soon but they may wait till spring, did you know silkies cant get wet as there fethers are more like fur  :D

Silkies are notoriously hard to sex, are you sure they are hens?  Hope so.

And Tony, I know you say silkies aren't supposed to get wet, but you couldn't tell that to our old Klaus, he was out with his girls no matter what the weather!  :)

may end up a cocral then but not always maybe a bit older, are you feeding them on layers pellets ? they will give your chucks all the goodies they need to lay eggs,  :D

its best to only give corn late afternoon because they will get fat, they are old enough to not give them chick crumbs, if you give them scraps as a treat only give now and then, potato peelings should be boiled first, although the law does say not to give kitchen scraps to any live stock !!!!  :tongue2:

Iv not given them anything from the kitchen, or any corn, its just some food i got for them while in penkridge while i waited my delivery of proper food for em,

In the container there's: crumbs, seeds, pellets, as a treat theyv had a few mealworms

A variety so they choose what they want :)

I think he meant that they shouldn't get wet as they get wet through! :)
