Forecast 0C here too , double fleece for the seedlings in the greenhouse methinks. At least it warms up fairly quickly during the day now.
First timer, NOT enjoying the backache anymore!

Acording to the news on telly we (Derbyshire) will be going down to -1 tonight!!

But the met office web site says a min of +2 degrees at 4am?

I will be fleesing up when I get home just in case though.    ???

The peans and beans at the plot will have to take their chances as I forgot to take the fleece with me when I planted  out the golden mangetout and the dwarf peas last night and I can't get up there till the weekend. They have all been been out side for the last few weeks anyway so hope they have toughned up. Think I'd better get a few more sown just in case.

After putting the car away I realised how cold it was and ended up "earthing up" my spuds in pots last night by head torch. There did not seem to be a ground frost but it felt like it could last night.

Just for you Bigben since you live in Sheffield here is a great website with Sheffield's weather statistics past and present (won't tell you if there is going to be a frost tonight but will tell you whether we have had one recently; just click on "temp" below the thermometer and it will take you to a variety of graphs showing max and min temperatures for a range of time periods. Lots of other stuff too like humidity (blight) soil temperature and so on!)

Another tip; a hoe or rake is much better for earthing up spuds than a head-torch!!  :nowink:
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!
