Title: Runner bean advice
Post by: Sharonx on May 05, 2009, 09:22
Hi,
I sowed some runner bean seeds just over a week ago and nothing has happened. How long do they take to germinate?
I have them in my cold frame and I cover them over at night with fleece, but am concerned it's not warm enough for them. I planted courgette at the same time and they haven't done anything yet either.
I'm not too worried about the courgette, but am worried I won't get any beans this year!

If you want to hurry the beans and courgettes up take them into the warmth of the house for a day or two and return them to the outside as soon as they show through.

So all is not lost then, so that's good. I was begining to think otherwise.
will pop them in the conservatory for a while then.
I have been keeping them watered as soon as the compost looks a little dry, is that right?
