Oh how could I do that (easy) Looked at a maidenhair fern and thought something has been nibbling that, it shouldn't have frilly leaves. Went to the shed, and picked up the Weedol extra strong stuff, instead of insect spray, and gave it a good dowsing. Immediately realised what I had done, and so I have tried to neutralise it with copious cans of water everywhere. So I guess I may lose it.
Have now separated sprays to different places - probably too late     Mrs Bouquet

Oh dear, lesson learned the hard way, I suppose :(

Should have gone to SpecSavers! :D
Most of us will have been there but for the grace of God at some time or other ......

It's easy to do daft things.. sadly.
If it's any consolation, I once limed my potatoes instead of adding some fertiliser as I intended. Finished the job and then stood there wondering why I'd just done that!!
Hope you got the Weedol off in time and the fern survives.

Try putting a band of red insulating tape on anything that's used for weeds etc including sprayers and watering cans so it won't happen again.

Do you think I could sell this to Specsavers and make a few bob !!!!
I am so cross, because normally I am so careful, only use red cans for anything killer chemicals, and I have painted a skull and cross-bones on it as well.
I think I was flustered and in a hurry, I like the idea of red tape around chemical sprays, that's a good idea.
I am glad I am not alone ::) Mrs Bouquet

Look on the bright side... you now have the perfect excuse to go plant shopping this weekend!

Did it live?

It is looking ok, I have given it a few good drinks, and I doused it thoroughly with water immediately I'd done it. I keep saying sorry to her as well, so fingers crossed ;) Thanks for asking after her :) :) Mrs Bouquet

Hello it should survive can't kill bracken or ferns with standard glyphosate weedol isn't strong enough check bottle only a few grams per litre of glyphosate salt,Roundup GC 360 will sicken it for a couple of days then recover if you'd used SBK brushwood killer then it would be bye bye jezza
