well yesterday Grannie Annie and myself took 12 turkey poults down to Ices place for her brother and then 6 poults to Hillfooters (thank you both for a lovely day and the refreshments - lovely to finally meet you Ice, and great to meet HF again along with his wife and daughter and son in law). All the way down they cheeped non stop - except for when I cheeped back to them then they shut up . If you end up with stags then yes they can be noisy especially if you make the gobbling noise to them as they gobble back . Just remember to keep them well away from the chickens to protect them from blackhead and if they are on ground that has previously kept chickens then you need to treat this along with their housing and all equipment. Grannie Annie is probably the best person to chat to about this and also a lot of serious turkey suppliers won't sell you a couple as they will all have been ordered by people like Grannie Annie ages ago - again chat to her - she may know the whereabouts of a couple  :).

Morning Joy!

Ive found a couple nearby to me here...Norfolk Blacks I believe...and they would be living in my garden in the small coop free ranging around the garden as the big coop on the plot is undergoing a refurb to make it bomb proof!

I just fancy having my own bird on the table this crimbo as we are having the whole family around!!

Morning hun. Have a chat with Annie regarding their care and feeding arrangements - I think the correct name for Norfolk blacks is Kellys blacks as I believe Kellys bought the breeding stock and rights to the name (Annie will let you know if that's right or not as that is where she gets hers from - both white plumpies and Kellys blacks  :)).
