Well what a week, Its been GREAT lots of time on the plot at (6am) sorting things out pecking orders, roosting in nest boxes cut comb's through pecking order trying to sort out things in the dark (7pm) on the plot an hour or so after popping in for 5 mins hahahahaha.
We love it they are great eggs 3 Tuesday,4 Wednesday,4 Thursday,5 Friday and 2 this morning. We have had a soft one and two broken ones but one was in the pocket of the other guy that also looking after them hahahahaha and the other was just in the nest box looking whole.

I have added some oyster shells and they have demolished 2 cabbages and a few treats this week.

glad you are enjoying them Kris. Try not to give them too many treats so that they eat more layers pellets. This will help with the shell quality as most pellets contain limestone flour  :).
Just think of treats as the equivalent of chocolate and you wouldn't let your children fill up on chocolate when you have lots of healthy fruit and veg growing on your plot would you?
Staffies are softer than you think.

Took 4 of the chooks to another part of the plot today in a run, they turned over the already dug ground and seems to enjoy it lots.

Chooks are doing great, they have been giving us 7-8 eggs a day. We have had a little heavy rain so put some wood chip down to stop there feet getting clagged up. Poo picking every day in the coop and a deep clean once a week.  They have grown in size i am sure they are getting bigger and bigger. They seem very happy indeed and we are doing our best to make sure they are happy chooks. Each one of them has its own character and they love seeing us first thing in the morning.
