OK Just go for another polytunnel. You know you want to  ;)

Some interesting ideas here.
Wondered if it might be worth erecting a 3-4 foot fence kind of level wit the lower level of glass. Having the posts and fence set about four feet away from the base of the whole greenhouse.
That would reduce the winds strength and send the current over the top of the greenhouse and still allow all the glass area to catch the sun.
That should work :) All I need now is a windtunnel and some scale models!

On the financial side, rapidly losing the will to live dealing with Churchill. Still not got an assessor out. Obviously my before and after photos could be fake so they have to send someone out.. eventually. Then they claim he can't make contact with us and we've no answering facility on the phone. Bunkum.
Ends up with me having to phone the assessor firm and then the individual person who can't possibly get here to suit me because his wife is poorly so he's 'kindly' coming on Sunday morning.
That's 9 days of broken glass that can't be cleared presenting a risk to my cats and my grandson has to be watched like a hawk. He's already cut himself picking up bits of it. It's toughened glass so masses of little sharp bits.  >:( >:( >:(

I'm surprised you managed to get it insured to be honest John - I bet your premium is going to get a hammering.

Have you considered a vertical debris netting curtain a distance from the GH which you could raise and lower to defuse the wind.  Add some basic mechanics and an anemometer it could all be automated...

I had a better idea! Put it on a hydraulic platform and when the wind picks up it sinks into the ground.

Here's a demonstration model (about 35 seconds in!)
