What's your favourite carol?

I have two. One is In the Bleak Midwinter, the other one is Gaudete by Steeleye Span on their live tour 2004.

Away in a manger when sung by small children always makes me cry.  My Grandson told me that it was all about a man in a red suit that wasn't allowed to eat crisps in bed! He was only 5 at the time! I like The Holly and the Ivy, jolly tune and uplifting.

I've just found my CD of Annie Lennox called "A Christmas Cornucopia" and saw "See amid the Winter's Snow" which is one I'd forgotten about.

Mine is "Oh little town of Bethlehem"  'cause it was me mam's favourite.  The line 'the hopes and fears of all the years are met in thee tonight' was (and is) particularly apt.

Cheers,  Tony.  Have a cool yule y'all!
I may be growing OLD, but I refuse to grow UP !

Once in Royal David's City.

Especially when sung at the start of the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols.
