I wish my dog would bring the dinner home!
He does try to chase rabbits (on our own land) but if the rabbit does a right angle he blunders straight on, he's a collie so maybe a lurcher next ;)

Ha-hah..............!
I've kept border collies for about 40yrs now. Not unusual for one to chase two rabbits across a field, the rabbits turn in oposite directions and the collie just stands there not having a clue what to do next.

Don't you just love them? :tongue2:

He's my special boy, can't really imagine myself having anything other than collie or collie x. I've always said dogs hopeful expressions don't work on me, but he's got me trained.
Just wish he'd catch the odd rabbit tho  :)

I've been laughing at these Collie tales as mine does all the same things. I've just watched her though, making a really good effort to keep up with a big buck rabbit which was doing all the ducking and weaving, until she lost it down a hole! :D

A friend of mine had a huge lab x camel that used to catch rabbits , lay there with a paw over their back giving them a good licking.
When we got close he would raise his paw and let the rabbit go.
Some gundog ! :D

We once had a greyhound bitch who, after weaning, was returned to her rapidly growing pups. She was a marvellous mother, playing with them, taking them on excursions and occasionally giving a 'clip round the ear ' should they get out of hand.

One day she sneaked off without them and went stalking through the spinney to return only minutes later with a dead rabbit which she presented to the pups. Motherhood as it should be.

We have a collie cross who just loves to chase rabbits. All I have to say is 'go find em' and she's off like a rocket. Trouble is the herding instinct is stronger than the hunting one and she tries to round them up.  :(

When I was a child my grandpa sent us a collie dog from Wales.  ::)

Poor thing had nothing to do and was out in the neighbours field chasing aircraft half the time . He then decided to round up the cows and in no time at all had them penned in a corner. He was soon dispatched back to Wales where he belonged!
