Brassica help
« on: August 02, 2016, 13:47 »
Afternoon all, Plant identification and advice please.

One of theses is broccoli and has since gone into yellow flowers- What do I do now if anything?

The other I'm not sure if it's Brussel Sprouts or something else. Can anyone tell me?

Many Thanks

(please bare with me if the photo's don't appear )

Cut off the yellow flowers and give the plant a good feed and keep well watered.. it may just produce some side shoots but if not it is for the compost heap

The other plant looks sprout like, so keep soil around it very firm, feed well and stake if it gets tall.... and wait!

Best to net against cabbage white butterflies laying eggs on the leaves too

If there are only a few flowers try cutting them off. When I have done this they have sprouted more shoots around where I have cut which produce more (but smaller) florets.
