They don't last long do they? I'm fortunate in the fact that I don't have to worry about growing space, so now I'd never consider less than 100 plants.  But you have to cut your suit according to the cloth.

No use planting all sweetcorn & getting no variety.

there s a variety called something american indian type cant remember the name we used to grow it in tenn .it had a variety of colour seeds in it and they tasted absolutly gorgous so sweet and juicy .. if i get a chance to talk to my ex mom inlaw i wil try n get the name

Those are superb sweetcorn, DD!

I sowed about 30 seeds in June (late, I know), and only 2 or 3 came out of those. Gilbert felt sorry for me and sowed some in pots and gave me to plant out a few weeks later (July). I got some corn, but they were not the best I've ever eaten - the cobs were mainly under developed, they were sweet, but could have been sweeter, and the last few times they've been extra tough. I've 2 more to harvest (will do so today), they feel fuller, but I won't be holding my breath. Still, I'm happy with what I got considering! Roll on 2008!

i picked all mine off yesterday and chucked it all where 2-3 inches and not formed!

they where put in late in the first place and where  plants from a garden center, none of the stuff plant wize i got from there was any good
