broad beans and wireworm
« on: May 09, 2011, 23:33 »
Now then,I`ve lost more than a few broad bean plants to the nasty little orangey wireworm...

I have started off some more broad bean seeds

How do I evict the wireworms before I put the broad bean baby plants in ????

I found a couple just digging through the soil, and squidged them. :tongue2:

Any ideas please? I love broad beans and parsley sauce......

I believe you can buy nematodes which you apply to the soil in a drench before planting - you'd need to google for the details and timings.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...
