Traumatised hens ???

Got a couple of sneaky pheasants hanging in the shed. Just went out to get one for lunch and my hens went mad when they saw it !!!!!!! Making all sorts of noises and one flew higher up than I have ever seen her !!!! maybe I should have been a bit more sensetive but do you think I could have mentaly scared them I wonder what they think of loving daddy Who gives us worms now  I've got another in the shed I'll make sure they are in bed next time !

I think you'll find that if you go to see them bearing worms they'll come rushing over as if nothing ever happened.  Nothing rules a chicken's heart like food     

I dusted mine earlier with red mite powder - preventative monthly dust.  They hate it and start creating like they are having their necks wrung    2 minutes later when I offered them a run in the garden they rushed out and were following me round as I raked up the mulch and debris they had kicked all over the lawn in case I unearthed something they had missed 

Many years ago I culled a cockerel in view of the hens. They were distraught and if a hen dies I try to be very discreet removing the body. I now cull my cockerels well out of sight.
