Older Chicks
« on: December 03, 2010, 20:01 »
I have three 8 week old chicks, who were under a broody in their hutch.  Well she seems determined not to give them up, and them also!  They chirp when she goes too far, and she's always making sure they get food and still sits on top of them at night.  Will she stop this soon- I thought they separated at about 6 weeks.  Thanks guys x

they can leave her any time from 6 - 10 weeks, don't worry she will leave them when she is ready. They will cry for her but soon get over it  :)

Mum probably knows it is too cold for her babies, and is probably appreciating their extra heat herself
