I had a greenhouse installed the other day and it came with an automatic vent.
Now, daft question perhaps - but heregoes: how do I work it, if indeed it needs adjusting much, given the automatic nature of it!!

I mean, it is open a bit at the moment and there is a screw (and a tight one at that) at the bottom of the shaft to turn one way for hot and one way for cold (according to the small diagram on the shaft) - but it is as simple as that - ie) do I just leave alone? or should it ever be shut manually (presumably by turning the screw in the "hot" direction until it closes)

It 'knows' when to open/close by the setting of the screw.

If you want it to be warmer in the house before it opens move the screw a lttle towards hot. Like wise if you want it to open before it gets too hot, move the screw towards cooler. (I set mine up by standing in the greenhouse when it was warm and moving the screw til it opened ..if it wasn't already)

Once you have it set how you like you just leave it alone to get on with it

If the screw is hard to turn just lift the window a bit with your hand, that takes the weight off the opener and makes it easier to screw in/out.

Takes a bit of trial and error to get the right setting but its not to hard.
When the greenhouse it at the temp you want the window to open adjust the screw so the window is open about an inch, this will give you a starting point.
