Leeky - don't cry, it's only a temp shut down whilst John moves server. I think it's a couple of days hence. You'll still be able to come here & get abuse - I mean advice.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Accotding to John's diary entry......(scroll down a bit)......

http://www.allotment-garden.org/diary/diary_day_detail.php?item=358

The fourms could be up & down today & tomorrow. That was the cunning plan.

With great joy I can announce the forums are running fine as far as I can tell now. I was going to say - done a day early but it's Friday officially :)

However, I just realised my diary dates are all messed up :(

Much sorting to do in the morning... late morning ... crack of noon!

Go & get some well deserved rest, John. You've done well, didn't expect the forums back until tomorrow. Oh - how my fingers have been twitching!

I don't know if it's just me - but have you noticed any speed improvements? It does seem a fair bit faster serving pages but that might be because we're quiet at the moment,

Definately running faster - I can tell when I go into the admin panel as that used to be quite slow.

And no nasty MySQL messages about too many users :) so you can invite your friends round as well!

To be honest I have never had a problem using the site John. I've always found it fast and have never had any msq wotsit messages  :)

(unlike one site I use that has nearly 30,000 members - always malfunctioning)

The offline problems were every so often but the speed was an issue.  Bit annoying to say the least for me anyhow.  I hope we don't get 30,000 members - I'll never cope :-)
