wind sent my chooks crazy!
« on: March 18, 2007, 19:43 »
The high winds this morning seemed to send my POL hens into a frenzy! from 8 this morning,a couple of them were squalking virtually non stop, and as i live in suburbia,it was quite embarrassing! i went down the garden a number of times in case there was anything else spooking them, but there wasn`t anything. in the end ,i stuck them back in their shed for the afternoon to calm down. anyone else had the same problem?

When it's windy and the trees and bushes are being blowing about it's very difficult to spot the sabre toothed tiger hiding   No wonder the poor chooks are nervous

Mine still get quite skittish when anything happens, but the bottom of our garden is right on the main road, so the worse thing for them is a really big lorry thundering by, but sometimes they just all stand still and look up to the sky.  Mind you, they hate it when planes fly low, they all get into a tight little corner until the noise goes away.
