Fathers day present
« on: June 12, 2008, 20:10 »
Every year my lovely daughters treat me to dinner out but this year I have asked for something a lot different for fathers day.
I have not told them yet what it is only that I will need it in September and will need there better halves as well.
As I am getting on in years 60 plus I would like them to give me a hand to move my shed, only a small distant of 6 feet.
I just feel like it is on the wrong side of the allotment.
Now how to move it that is the question.
I do not wont to take it to bits, and it was a shop brought one paid by the council and made of wood.
I await you suggestions.
Reg
I'm lost without my SatNav.

get hold of some round posts and lift the shed up one side and roll one under push the shed and roll another under ,after u have 5 or so under the shed you can move it just remove and  add a post to the front as you go in the direction you want    "werkss for me "

We moved quite a big shed in a very similar way to munty.  We fixed wooden handles on it to so that some of the weight could be lifed off the rollers.  Made it look like a hansom cab

I've got an 8'x6' that I will need to move about a mile in a couple of months time. I have access to trailers big enough to take it so I was hoping to attach wooden handles so that we can lift it on.

Hope to do the same with the greenhouse - after taking the glass out of course!

Attach wooden handles.
That sounds like an easy and cheep way off doing it.
Will get to long bits of 2x2 wood and screw it on to the ends about just under shoulder height then one person on each corner, lifting with there shoulder.
I have only to move it from one corner of allotment to the other about 6 to 8 feet, but will need 5 people, one on each corner and one to take photo's.
