sorry there so big, haven't mastered this posting of pics yet....................
-
Oh god, its a miracle she survived, you would have thought if the wounds wouldn't have killed her then the shock would have, she must have a real zest for lif...and a fantastic nurse :)
-
that black area on her bum is a hole, it seems to be reducing now, the vet couldn't stitch it because it was too big...................
-
its horrific, did you have to pack it or leave it exposed?
-
 poor love.. really hope she makes it, you deserve a medal for trying so hard. ((hugs))
-
the vet packed it with gauze but told us to remove it when we got home so we could clean it, it was horrible as i had my fingers practically inside her with cotton pads, it makes me wretch and i don't think she liked it much either.
-
you really do deserve a medal, the thought of picking maggots out of a wound makes me feel sick to the stomach but its amazing what you can do when you really have to.
-
O bless the poor girl
She takes a good photo though even with the Adam Ant style face paint
Really hope she carries on lookin good and getting better
Well done TMG your doing a grand job :D
-
little pauline is lucky to have her own angel looking after her. feeling loved can help alot in getting better, so she has the bestest chance with you.
all out thoughts are with you xxx

Aaah, what a luverly chooky. So glad she is pulling through  Great also to see all your hard work pay off :D
-
she's been trying to preen what little feathers she has left, hence the blue beak, she's only got 2 tail feathers left, she's certainly lost her street cred, but she's been really tolerant considering we keep hauling her out of her basket to give her antibiotics, do wound cleaning and demaggoting. she hasn't eaten much today and she's walking oddly ( i think i would be if someone bit a chunk out of my bum) it seems as if she's stiff, she also has a puncture wound on her fou fou (vent) ouch
-
What a star you are! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
well done for not giving up! :D
-
If there were medals for bravery in the chook world Pauline would get the highest order :o
-

Lots of hugs to you and Pauline....

Pauline is still doing fine (fingers crossed she keeps it up) because the big brother hen house was too small to keep them in indefinatley (untill we get the fox, as yet he's still unshot, they don't say as cunning as a fox for nothing) we moved them and the 5 remaining cow shed girls into a stable, allthough it's big, being under house arrest is making them grumpy and we've had to remove Precious and lois because they were being bullied, lonely still has a stable of her own as she was almost pecked to death when we got her ( will post a pic if anyones interested to see a bald chicken) and so does Ellwood the remaining cockerel ( the fox got Jake). we bring our horses in every day to check for bites, kicks, stings, stones in hooves ect and i'm running out of stables, we put lonely in with Pauline temporarily and they seem to be getting on fine, they have cat baskets next to each other, and when the horses went back out we left the stable door open so they could wander if they wanted too, ( lonely did but Pauline went back to bed). she's still walking painfully , but seems ok in herself, hopefully she will make a full recovery .
