Cooking for one and bone idle tonight so a pack of super noodles, with chopped up sausages in. Followed by a family sized bag of crisps and I've just started on the Thatcher's Vintage (7.4% abv) :)

Herrings, with the added bonus that all of them had soft roe.
Cooked in the oven, to reduce the smell, high temp for about 6-7 mins. Bread and butter, squeeze of lemon,
Fishy heaven  :)

Husband wants curry some more so lamb "Kashmiri Lamb Stew" or "Rogan Josh" from the slow cooker curry book in the monthly deals. I'll be adding onions and tomatoes. Lamb curry because I found some that was a bit freezer burnt yesterday when I had a go at defrosting the freezer.

Children are having garlic and herb chicken in a cheese sauce with spaghetti. By request.

Quiet meal for hubby & I as DIL has a taken the munchkins away for the weekend lol so baked plaice, garlic & herb wedges, green beans ( bought ftf) carrots & tadaa romanescu (aka dinosaur broccoli in this house) from the plot. I found it when I was pulling up what I thought was a spent brassica plant that had fallen over, bonus find, chickens still got the remains off the plant  :)

My vote is good idea  :)  It is sometimes just nice to know there is back up in the fridge, so you don't have to plan, prepare or scratch cook a meal that day :)

Tonight we have fish pie.  I got given frozen basic white fish fillets at work ages ago (label info or weight incorrect I expect).  I found them in the freezer and wondered how to jazz them up into something less boring.  Now they have parsley sauce, various veg and chopped hard boiled egg for company and will disappear under a mash duvet in due course  :D

Lunch was a half term treat in a famous burger franchise emporium so dinner will be a bit of cheese on toast. So many chicken nuggets eaten...

*Edit* Went all posh and had a 'Bombay Badboy' Pot Noodle!

I found a bag of Meaty Pork BBQ Mini Ribs, it was dated January 2017.   I thought either just throw them away, or cook them, taste and eat if ok.   Well, they were and I did - just over 4 years old.    Still alright so far  :D
