« on: August 30, 2011, 21:44 »
My little sussex bantam Gladys went broody in May this year so i gave her some eggs and they all hatched mostly boys so i gave them away 2 weeks ago all but 1 little girl Dolly. Now Gladys seems to have gone broody again showing all the signs is this possible??? I thought giving her the eggs to hatch would get her over this until next year. Surley she couldnt be broody again so soon any advice would be great thanks guys  ???

My bantam, Poppy, goes broody 3 or 4 times a year. I close the pophole during the day and she stops after a couple of days.

some of mine go broody after laying a couple of eggs - they just love to hatch chicks.
Staffies are softer than you think.

Don't you just love bantams! ::)
I do - the cage method seems to work best ::)
They do make excellent Mums and its great fun but it would be nice to get a few eggs occasionally too.Have you tried a wire dog or cat cage yet? A few days days in there usually works - until next time lol.

they don't have to be bantams - my Cuckoo Marans Brenda Lee is always broody too (mind you she is a fantastic mum and her daughter Dannii is also the same  ::)).
