hi all, can anyone help, i have a banty who has been broody now for aabout 5 weeks, i've tried a quick bath, tried keeping her out of the nest boxes, she's still eating but runs back as if an alarm has gon off :cry:

Bottom in a bucket of water every half hour. Should shock her system!

if this does not work try putting her in an all-wire cat carrier - the kind yoo use to take them to the vets. Dont put any newspaper etc in there. Put her in it ensuring air can get in underneath ie. rais it on a brick at each end.

Give her food an water of course and leave her in there for 3 days ish. this will physically cool her underneath.

Some people think this is cruel but i believe leaving her broody is more unfair.

cheers for the reply chookie, put her in a cage this morning, she is not a happy chuk, but will be worth it if it works, missing her little perfect white eggs, tried putting photos on but kept beig told they are too big, any suggestions?

hi everybody, just a few lines to say the bantam is broody no more! 2 days in the cage as suggested by chookiepaula worked a treat, she's following me round again, hunting worms and slugs and i looked in the coop tonight and she's on her perch again instead of being in the nest box hooray hopefully eggs will follow.
