Is there anybody out there that can help?
As you will probably guess I am new to this allotment stuff, but thoroughly enjoying it :tongue2:
My problem is, I am growing some spring greens, some of the leaves have blisters on them up to 8mm in diameter. The blister is raised and on the underside of it there is a white powder. Apart from a few caterpillar holes and a few white fly the plants are looking healthy.I have asked around on site but nobody seems to know what it is and I cant find anything in the books that fits :?

what colour are the blisters .. brown? its leaf spot the white is rot attacking the open lesions  treat with fungicide or cut off the affected leaves and then spray with fungicide from supliers for brown spot .

It is called White Blister or White Rust.

Doc Hessayon says "Cut off and burn affected leaves.  Thin out plants to reduce overcrowding" Are they overcrowded?

"Do not grow brassicas on land affected in the previous season"

Dont think they are overcrowded :? .
Have got two rows 8ft long plants spaced about 12" apart. now they are about 12" tall so there is not much of a space between the bigger ones. Is this too close.

Not really.  I might give spring greens 15-16" each way but I don't see this as being significant.  Blame the weather!

Thanks for the help :)
I think I will thin them out a bit to be on the safe side and have a look at the garden centre for a spray.I have got some seedlings coming on as well so will make sure these are spaced out a bit better.
Iwill also be using THE WEATHER as "my excuse"

I take it this means it is ok to eat the thinnings.
Dont fancy the dodgy leaves, will get rid of these properly.
Just a "quickie" I have been down to the plot and noticed some (dont laugh)purple flowers coming on my purple sprouting broccoli, when do I pick it :?:
