Hi all. I just got back from Spain. AV temp 31c, baking sunshine, trees groaning with peaches oranges, lemons . Vines covered with white and red grapes, not fair at all, my plot gone belly up big time.

supposed to be even hotter tomorrow and Sunday!  Needless to say, we stay inside once it gets to mid day! I´ve put up shade cover for the hens, they have not gone off laying, which surprised me, thought they would stop.

My parents live in Italy where it's also baking. But apparently next week the temperature is meant to be coming down so hope it's the same for you in Spain. Mums lemons and grapes, which she grows on her balconies are doing well, she says, luckily if too hot the shade can be brought down.

I can barely function when our heatwaves hit 33 C and more. They'd be carrying me out at 44.8.

Me too Trillium - in fact I enjoyed this summer more than last. BUT we haven't had floods and last year we were parched and had a hosepipe ban.

this time last year someone stole my hosepipe and my garden was parched. I had to bucket water from 50 yards away. kept me fit mind. What I was trying to demonstrate was the abundance of produce from gardens in Spain where the didn't have to try very hard where as I feel to get anything this year is a constant battle. Oh well there's always next year.
