Title: Self seeding
Post by: purplebean on April 30, 2008, 12:16
I have a whole range of things coming up having self seeded last year. The flowers are all fine come back every year and save me a fortune but I have a question about mizuna. I have some lovely seedlings of red mustard and mizuna coming through. The red mustard I grew from seed (still have some growing) and I know it is a variety that will be fine. The mizuna I bought a pot of from a  nursery and have no idea if it could be a F1 hybrid, I've had a quick look and it would appear that most catalogues don't have F1 mizuna, has anyone ever heard of it? I'm going to leave it growing and hope it comes true.

you will see Red Giant Mustard, you eat the leaves and they have a rather strong mustard flavour, delicious.

What you get in Asian shops can be sown, for sure, so off you go, doesn't cost much to try.
