Runner Beans

If I chop my runner beans into 1 inch bits do I need to de-string them? Sorry it it's a silly question but I'm a bloke living on my own  :wub:

Only if the beans are getting on, then I should de string BEFORE cutting them up into 1" lengths.  :)

I think Tony meant if the beans have been on the vine for too long they will be stringier.

Best to pick them when they are a bit smaller than you would like, but even so I still get the occasional 'string' when I top and tail them.
