Title: national trust free seeds
Post by: Janeymiddlewife on May 21, 2009, 21:43
apologies if this has been posted before, did a search but didn't seem to come up!
Certain NT properties are giving away free seeds. I went to hughenden manor near high Wycombe today and picked up 9 purple French bean seeds, but could have had borlotti, painted lady runner & some other type of french bean in a packet. I think the seed changes each month - and if you were to go back when the first person you saw is on their break............  They just wanted a postcard with addy on (not compulsory though) as they'll write to a subsample for the magazine. They  had free recipes and growing guides for beginners. As I have a membership card it cost me nowt extra, so to speak!

Lists events where you can pick up seed, however they were giving it away today even though it wasn't listed as a give away!
Sutton House, Hackney, London, is hosting one of these 'Food Glorious Food' events, AND opening for free to families, on May 31st - details are at the bottom of the page on this link:
