Title: One way to keep the house warm on a cold day... bake!
Post by: mumofstig on May 11, 2020, 16:51
I've got a 50% wholemeal 50% plain white loaf, plus the same flower mix plus butter, sugar, spice and sultanas shaped into buns - while that lot is keeping warm and rising on the top grids - in the oven are Cornish Pasties

You got flour?????  And yeast??    Now I am jealous ....  ::)

(Actually I have too - but that is due to my Brexit panics/squirrelling earlier in the year ...)

Mrs Growster always changes the menu to a baked spud when the weather looks a bit nippy.

Worked well yesterday, I can tell you!

I'm sure you couldn't possibly eat all of that, so in your own interests, I'll DM you my address and you can just pop them in the post.  No? Oh well …  ::)

I've got one of those self cleaning ovens, which does it by getting super-hot. I set it to clean when I'm cold!
