GROW LIGHTS for Onions

Any advice please on which gro lights to buy .
 I am looking to start my Onions off indoors from seed .
I have a budget of about £100 but can stretch a little .
Also the name of a reputable supplier [I live in Berkshire but can order online]

No just biggish Onions for home use [4 kids] 13 grandchildren!
I have reselected kelsae seeds and buntons showstopper

The seeds you have selected are big onions for showing ;)
You can grow large onions for the kitchen just by growing in modules on the window ledge and then planting out in spring.It's fertile soil and wide spacing that makes the difference I think.
IMO you really don't need to be spending £100 on a grow light just for onions to eat  :nowink:.........but that's really up to you, of course  :lol:

I appreciate that I may not need to do this but having grown kelsae
 many times before I find that they taste good and store well .
This year due to the snow my onions from seed did not develop strong enough roots before the longest day and so I have decided to treat myself to a grow light so i can start them earlier
should we get a hard winter , anyone any thoughts on what to buy?

I too am looking to buy a grow light, but im planning on exhibiting the onions i grow from them. That one looks a good one rossco, i found anouther ood one for about £60 i think, ill post a link in a second when i can find it :)
