Oxalis - common wood sorrel - I didn't know that !

I looked at the photo of the oxalis/common wood sorrel and it isn´t that plant. My plant has tiny leaves, deep red/purple kind of colour and the flower which is also very tiny is buttercup yellow. It spreads by runners and tiny root bits left behind when I try to prise up the roots :x

I have the very same plant all over my garden. It appears overnight. The begger doesn't like being dug up either it just gets bigger and bigger.I have spot sprayed when it isn't near anything else. It couldn't care less!! I do think it's quite pretty in the kind of wish you were someone elses problem though

Sorry you have it too! I guess it is too tiny to cause many problems but it is so annoying that you can´t get all the roots up

Is it creeping buttercup? but I thought that has green leaves.

Grannie I wish I knew what it was! I know what it isn't but that doesn't help. It is very like the little oxalis which has pink or is it red flowers? It comes up everywhere. It is just as invasive as buttercups in its way but the root format is like little carrots in shape! Well sort of. Tubular roots I think is waht I mean!

Is it this one Pamela ?

From the same page as Aunt Sally posted but one of the variants.

That isn't the same as mine although the fruits sound identical. The flowers have more petals and are really dainty to look at and my leaves aren't so dark either! Well at least one of us is sorted

There seems to be an awful lot of varieties of oxalis, although if yours have more petals, it would suggest a different plant altogether.
We've got loads of different creeping plants, some of whihc I'm yet to identify but I'll get there !
