ive got a yucca in the garden , had it for 5 years now it was only small when planted , its got loads of plants growing out of it have managed to get one off but its got needle like leaves (also called jacobs needle )i want to get some more off with out the fear of impailing .
im just wondering why my plant flowers at different times to all the rest and my flowers dont seem to last long , its really nice when it flowers

I grow the true yucca and it doesn't have any sharp needles whatsoever. As for flowering time, the plant does it when the right conditions are there for it and no sooner. If your needle-like babies need spreading, use a long handled adjustable wrench to manipulate them but don't squeeze too hard.

Mind your eyes! We have a huge clump of yuccas and have to take babies off every year so it doesn't get even bigger. Use long armed gloved and a wrench, just like Trillium does, but wear eye protectors!!!
