Hi all I have a small to medium chicken coop and have 2 medium size chickens and 1 silkie and a little tiny white amber star. The problem is the 2 larger birds have started to go to sleep on top of chicken coop and now weather is starting to turn for worse I am worried about especially as they are regularly laying? Any help or ideas would be great as me and my partner work shifts and can't keep chucking them in the chicken house. We built a extra nest box on side of coop so there is enough room just dont know what to do.Thanks chicken lovers x

Check for red mite in the coop.  Hens may choose to to sleep outside if there is an infestation.

Do you have roost bars in your coop, if not that might be the problem.  They like roosting, the nest boxes are for them to lay their eggs in.
