Scarified to within an inch of life about 3 weeks I was worried about it, but decided to leave it.   My neighbour cuts his about twice a week, and puts soil and seed over it.  Then cuts it on his lowest setting.
Today, when the rain eased off about 4ish, I went out with the seaweed extract and gave it a watering.
My logic was that the soil will be wet enough for the mix to be absorbed into the ground.  I hope my logic is ok
but I don't expect it can come to harm.  Mrs Bouquet

I hope to mow here today, but I'll forgo cutting the grass on the wide kerb outside, next to the road, as the wild flowers and grasses are spectacular this year!

Twice a week mowing is a bit of a 'bridge too far' for my liking...

Believe it or not, it has actually grown overnight, or perhaps it is just standing more upright now.  I put my hand down onto the soil in between the straw and it is really hot.    I don't know will happen to the straw bits, but I guess I shall have to throw some seed at it.  Just not sure when, I am thinking early October.
We cut our grass verges, which are also very wide, my other neighbour does mine.   They are developing large clumps of little yellow flowers, very close to the ground, probably some kind of creeper.  I must look it up.  Mrs B

We have two areas just outside, and the gorgeous yellow flowers are just delightful! I always mow round them!

Growster in are right (as ever).  I identified it today, it is taking over.  Somebody has suggest Evergreen 4-1, what do you think, even though you like it !  Mrs B

It doesn't last forever, Mrs B - I'd leave it as a fabulous pollinator, but if it's ruining your grass, maybe just some of it in the mddle maybe...
