Shady area
« on: April 25, 2020, 15:08 »
I have a shady are near a fence and wondered if any one had suggestions for a large decorative shrub. The ares does get limited sun and is a bit damp.  I had a budliea in there but that deteriorated so have moved it before it dies.  So I would like it to have some that flowers and is fairly striking.

So any suggestions anyone?

Sounds like the perfect place for a hydrangea, either one of the H. Macrophylla aka lacecap hydrangeas, or the larger H. Paniculata white, or Vanille Fraise which is creamy white, but gradually turns pink as the flower ages.

Thank you both for your suggestions.  I did think about a hydrangeas - this would be big enough. I will look into it

Just had another thought (whilst staring at mine)   How about a Fatsia Japonica.    You can let it grow as big or small you  like.    Mrs Bouquet
