i have a standard size (6 inch i think) and at times ite to big, do they come any smaller and if so where from ?

Grab your hacksaw ! ! !  I'm sure there are biggerer and littlerer hoes.  Your local metal fabricator will help if you are not too good with a hacksaw. 

I'm cogitating making a rake 50% (or more) wider than the norm.   Cheers,   Tony.

I use woolf interchangeable tools -- ideal as several hoes shapes and sizes as well as wide and narrow rakes etc. Kids like then too as they make reasonable priced presents that they know dad will like

If there is a slot in the socket then its probably a wolf.they used to make a handle with a groove which one pushed in the hoe socket and twisted to lock it in,it may have been the for runner of the quick change system?. I have one like yours and one that has a rake the width of the blade on the back of it.also have a 5 tine cultivator .

no mine is hand forged, the handle goes on then is riveted through - like a spade.

I've 2 dutch hoes, one is about 4" and the other 2" wide. The smaller one is great for tight spaced crops.
