Title: Standard sizes
Post by: Lardman on March 13, 2010, 10:50
Not sure if this needs to live here or equipment - feel free to move me.

I bought one of Been and Queued's heated propagators a while back its branded Sankey 38cm / 8W. My cell trays that I bought in bulk a few years back were plantpak.

The lip on the cell tray is the same (2mm more) as the lip on the propagator lid, as a result the lid wont go on with 2 of the 1/2 trays in  >:( Im not buying another - but I would stretch to a few new trays if that the problem. Anyone recommend a brand of 20 or 12 cell 1/2 tray that actually fits into these.

I would have thought that Sankey make some that would fit. :)

I thought that (Im not as green as I am cabbage looking  :D ) - but as far as I can tell they don't do multi cell trays only full trays.

:) :)

Back in a former life, I used to work in a garden centre. I'm pretty sure sankey used to make a multi celL, I'm pretty sure that stewart did as well, but , as you say, plantpak did kind of corner the market.

You'll get the same problem with the single tray prop. from B&Q. I had to trim the edges of my trays to make them fit! I'll look in B&Q today to see if they have specific trays for this Gizmo!  :tongue2:
