morning y'all
i have some FELTHAM peas,,,it says sow autumn ,,winter an spring,,so should i sow now,regards mick,an do they need suport,

Over-wintering peas are a real risk - I never bother, they need more TLC just to try and get a crop a few weeks early. Yes they'll need support if they grow.

Case in point: I posted this photo of a plot neighbour's peas on the 9th January.




It wasn't a particularly harsh winter in terms of sustained low temperatures, but just one overnight frost got them and a week later they were mush.

I agree with DD. and have never had much success and so won't be bothering this year. That said I am much further North than you.

It's your choice but what I would say is don't be put off with trying if you are willing to accept some loss (maybe all depending on the Winter).

I find most seed packets overly optimistic and shouldn't be completely believed. Logic and knowing your local weather work far better.
