Gamay flavour...
« on: December 06, 2011, 07:28 »
We make our usual 'Growster Hooch' from dried elderberries and cider, and although it is a great taste, I just wonder if anyone has any ideas on trying to reproduce the Gamay taste/flavour, from other fruits or essences.

Gamay is the grape type used in the Beaujolais area, and is a particular favourite in 'The Turrets'... (Fleurie, Brouilly etc).

To answer my own question, we're trying a tiny amount of a fruit squash (sugar free), and it nearly works!

Thanks Growster, that's made my day!

Think nothing of it Growster, we're here to help...

You're so kind Growster...;0)
