Traps could be the answer but at £8.95 each and you need to do it twice it is a bit expensive, and then it is only partially effective so you have to spray as well when the traps show that the moths are on the wing.

I wonder what spray they refer to? As far as I know none are recommended for leek moth. Perhaps I shall email them and find out.

I have covered my leeks with enveromesh for the last 2yrs  from day one and have had no trouble ,As soon as I have sown the seed they are covered and stay covered till I crop them .

I have 5 of these cages they are 8ft x 4ft and 30ins high ,they cost £13 each .I have had 2 of them 5yrs now and still in good condition .I grow carrots,leeks onions,swedes shallots,celery in these cages without any problems no flies or moths of any kind .I don't think £13 is expensive for disease free crops over 5yrs  .

Was up the lotty last week and walked past a neighbors plot admiring his leeks , they looked great.

Went up there today and well I could not believe my eyes the leeks looked awful. Went to look tat mine as they were late going in and they had the same signs but not as bad.

Leek moth!!

I did not realize how much damage they cause because I don't think I have seen it before, anyone else got any problems with them?
