Title: Westwood rotovator with a aspera engine
Post by: IRP on May 21, 2018, 11:28
Does any one know if this engine, type 0022 HN35 uses unleaded or leaded petrol?
Thanks
Ian

All garden machinery engines are low compression so can take low octane fuel. Most have aluminium cylinder blocks and heads which have hardened valve seats, so can take unleaded fuel. The engines with cast iron valve seats, such as 1970s Sufflolks, have now been running on unleaded for almost 20 years without problems, although they aren't supposed to. So, short answer, yes.

hello when unleaded fuel first came on to the market there was a big who are about changing over from leaded to unleaded my local machinery dealer use to drain the leaded petrol out of the tank then refill with unleaded then start the  mower up that was the change over with out parts he only charged for the petrol  your aspera engine should run on unleaded ok  jezza
