giving spuds a final boost ?

i have around 2 weeks to go before my 1st earlies should be ready to lift
 i have some spare fish blood & bone is it worth using this along the ridges and water in to give them a final boost
 would this be benificial or just a waste of fbb any ideas thanks

As fbb is slow release i think it would be a waste, your spuds will be out before it starts to give any nutrient.

I also think it is too late for fertiliser, but if you do use it select a potato fertiliser (ie one with a NPK of 4:5:8) You can buy it or an alternative would be rose fertiliser.

With 2 weeks to go I would give the crop a good watering and maintain a good moisture level in the soil. Potatoes are mainly water.

I agree with Ivor. If conditions down there are anything like as dry as up here the one thing they really need is water to make them bulk up. Give them a really good drenching and cover the soil with a mulch of some sort.

And enjoy your tatties. There's nothing quite like the taste of those first ones pulled straight from the ground and into the pot.
