I've just come back from my lotty and have noticed some fine 'rust' like marks on my upper broad bean leaves, and some of the very lower leaves on the stems are wilting.  :blink:

I've done a search on here for rust on leaves, but it doesn't tell you what to do....

Does this mean I'll lose my beans (even though the pods aren't marked but swelling nicely), or do they need a feed or treated with something??

Hi,

We had this on a quarter of our plants, the pods got it as well. However they still swelled and we harvested today and they were fine. We had a lot of blackfly which we used soapy water spray and pinched the growing tips out to get rid.

I pinched out the growing tips about 3 weeks ago to prevent black fly and because they were nearing shoulder height (my dad said they were a DWARF   :blink: variety)

And in this wind, (blowing a gale at mo here) I hope they don't snap, even though they're supported......

Would advise that you don't compost them when finished if they have rust on them.
