I finished weeding out the goose-grass that had spread into areas I didn't even know I had! Tomorrow - the nettles!  Over the last few weeks, I have filled about 20 green bins-worth with weeds that had accummulated over the past 4 months since my hip-op. It has also given me time to think about what plants don't do justice, what seed too much and how to make my piece of paradise a bit more maintenance-friendly. I'm now hot to trot!

Weeding! I've noticed this year that the weeds are already quite big by the time I've worked my way round,  and have got back to the beginning again

I don't like to hoe between the flowers, cos as well as being clumsy and cutting through some stems, it also means I hoe the self seeded flowers, so hand weeding for me

said "Ok I'll clear up" after dinner when Mr S said he would go & start jet washing the patio Little did I know it would include me going out & getting down & dirty with him too I had the job of sweeping the dirt & water to the drain &yes I was wet through when I came in to bake the bread he had started while he went for the 1st shower

That's the thing - once you have got to the end, you're back at the beginning again! Having filled as many containers as I can possibly leave for the bin men, I resorted to cleaning my "retirement bench" of all the grime that has accumulated over the last year. It was supposed to rain, but didn't - but it was a job I could break off if it did.  All I need to do now is to give it a light sanding and put some teak oil on it, then I can rest! Oh - my aching back!!!
