Title: Another slow cooker suggestion
Post by: ManicMum on November 12, 2011, 20:48
I've discovered a couple of recipes where you layer thin raw potato slices with a chicken/onion/mushroom mixture (I thickened the frying juices with flour then used tomato juice to make the sauce instead of milk) or a bacon/onion/etc mixture.

It's ideal as a meal if you've been out all day: no waiting for the spuds to go with the stew.  I also use that if I'm working late so the family can have dinner without any effort - except a few sprouts or other veg that can be left prepared & ready to cook.

Anything that makes life less Manic helps!!
