flowers and greenhouses
« on: July 07, 2012, 13:40 »
Guys I am running out of room in my conservatory for when I seed my marigolds etc early in the year, about March time.  So I was wondering, I know nothing about greenhouses, but can flowers be germinated and kept in a greenhouse?  Does it have to be heated?  If so how do you heat a greenhouse.  I would be as I said doing marigold from seed, geranium cuttings, margeurite cuttings, osteospermum cuttings, growing on mimulus, and viola's.  Not forgetting I am on the sunny South Coast, heat wise, just down road from the sea, if that makes any difference at all.

Thankyou
Sheila

had a lady grow alot of flowers from seed. She heated hers. she used a paraffin heater as it was at the allotment. an electric one might well be cheaper.

I have an electrical supply in my greenhouse at home so I us a heater and also a propagater at the beginning of the year.
If you decide to us electricity , make sure it is installed correctly.
The cable should be Steel Wire Armoured (SWA) and the circuit MUST be protected by an RCD.
