Correct frontline spot on doseage please ??
« on: October 25, 2010, 08:15 »
Hello all,

I posted a while ago about brown creepy crawlies def not red mite. in my wood shaving bed. The birds all appear to be clear but then again my eyesight is not what it was  ::) ::)

I have identified the c-cs (sorry cant type the whole words it makes me itch ! :nowink:) as possible northern mite?? the girls go free range in the garden so may have picked up from any wild bird ??

My question is I need to frontline the girls today and need to know the doseage for the spot on treatment. Am I to assume like dogs/ cats etc this is placed at the base of the neck onto the skin??

is it diluted first?  or straight from the measuring syringe??

when would I re apply??

Next question.... to eradicate from the bedding and house ..... obviously removed bedding and spray?? smoke bomb?? I have been given both as suggestons even a green house bomb or ardap spray, again your answers would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks again folks

broody  :)
if wishes were changes.......

There is no "correct" dosage for chickens as frontline is NOT licenced for them.

The advice we have from one vet can be found here:

scroll down a bit.

I just put a drop on the back of the neck, Part the feathers first to get to the skin.

Auntie / jeanette

thank you both, it is really distressing for me I have searched for a sticky but did not find the one you sent the link for which is most imformative..... I take on board all that you say about license etc I can now act accordingly  ;) ;)

I have also bought mite kill spray by nettex to do the living quarters so fingers crossed. Bring back head lice I say seem to be a lot easier to deal with lol  :D :D :D

broody  (still itching ) ;)
