Silly Mistake
« on: June 09, 2015, 15:56 »
Back on Good Friday I planted my spuds and had a few left over. I've planted Maris Peer and Desiree. Once I got home I thought it would be a good idea to plant the spare Maris Peer in a big tub in the greenhouse to bring them on quickly and get some spuds a bit earlier. They've grown like triffids and have been outside for about a month now.

Anyway, they're flowering now. Lovely white flowers. Can anyone spot my error?

I'm guessing it has something to do with the flower colour, and that your 'Maris Peer' spuds will turn out to have a strange red hue!   8)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

One of the best things about being an orang-utan is the fact that you don't lose your good looks as you get older

Yup. The light dawned when I had a furtle in the tub and found a little purple spud! What worries me most is that I've done the same on the plot and planted the Maris Peer too far apart and the Desiree too close together.

You will still get a crop from each though  :nowink:
