Title: Adding to my flock

I started with 6 hens but now I have 3, could I add 2 or 3 to them? I have 2 sussex and an aracana, I'd like to get some warrens

Shazzer, you can add as many as you like (obviously dependant on available space etc).

Just give them time to get used to each other and expect some girly squabbles

I read somewhere that the best way to introduce new girls was at night; something to do with the daft bird brains not remembering that 'yesterday there were only three of us but today there are four'  :lol:

yes definately add them at night, but what about the day when they are all hanging out together?

I think the theory is that if they wake up together they think they've always been together ... sounds about right for the dippy creatures, I think all their available memory is taken up with 'that's food!  I eat that!  that's food as well! I eat that as well!' :wink:

LOL I do agree, mine come out every morning and act like the food wasn't there the day before.
